This course equips you with the knowledge and skills to effectively protect yourself, your crewmates, and your vessel from threats like piracy and armed robbery.

STSDSD Course Description:
This program aligns with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations outlined in table A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Convention and Code.
This TWO - day course equips seafarers to perform designated security duties on board a Merchant vessel, where heightened threat may relate to Piracy and Armed robbery.
Course Subjects / Topics Include:
Through a combination of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and assessments, you'll gain the competence necessary to:
- Perform designated security duties: Learn essential tasks and responsibilities related to onboard security, such as securing the ship, conducting security patrols, and recognizing suspicious activity. (Specific duties will be detailed based on table A-VI/6-2)
- Enhance security awareness: Develop a heightened awareness of potential security threats and how to mitigate them. Gain an understanding of piracy methods, anti-robbery measures, and best practices for maintaining vigilance. (Specific knowledge areas will be detailed based on table A-VI/6-2)
- Respond effectively: Learn proper procedures for responding to security incidents, including raising alarms, reporting suspicious activity, and cooperating with security personnel.
