Following a successful career at sea, Capt. Gopinath transitioned ashore, bringing his wealth of practical experience into the fields of maritime education, training, surveying, and institutional leadership. His diverse professional background enables him to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world shipboard operations, preparing cadets and seafarers to meet the evolving demands of the global maritime industry.

Capt. Gopinath possesses extensive expertise in RightShip requirements, inspection preparedness, and maritime quality assurance. He has successfully conducted numerous RightShip awareness programmes, inspection readiness workshops, and onboard coaching sessions, guiding officers and crew members to achieve higher safety standards, operational efficiency, and successful RightShip inspection outcomes. His professional experience also includes serving as a P&I Surveyor, undertaking marine inspections, investigations, and technical assessments while promoting best practices in marine safety, risk management, and statutory compliance.
